100th Entry on DivitoDesign
The latest post Drop-Down CSS Menu has increased the entry-counter to 99 and this entry will count as number hunderd. It’s been a hell of a ride with setbacks and many learning moments, but we will keep on going.
In the beginning of this blog, I actually didn’t have the skills to start one. The articles I wrote were mainly tutorials for users that didn’t care for a wrong sentence or typo, my writing skills were not that great. My writing got better along the way and I wrote some more insightful articles about blogging and WordPress. Articles that were helpful for the blogging community.
Today I am ready for the step to take the visitors- and article-base to a next level. My articles are of a quality that is not top-notch yet, but is acceptable and with the right idea’s the goals I will set in a minute can be accomplished.
My Goals for End 2008
I have never really set goals to this blog because I wanted tot experiment and didn’t really know what was possible. Today I think I can set myself realistic goals and I think am able to fulfill them by the end of the year too.
- Visitors - Today, I have around 500 unique visitors a day. I will try to double these figures to 1000 unique visitors which is acceptable.
- RSS Subscribers – The number of RSS subscribers are not the highest, currently at 71. Before the end of the year I should have around 200 subscribers.
- Pagerank of 5 – I have had some link-love lately, so with some extra links, the homepage’s pagerank 5 is feasible.
- Advertisements – This blog isn’t stuffed with ads because 1) I didn’t have the traffic for that and 2) because it didn’t fit in the design. With the new design, a bit more ads will be displayed. Of course, not too many, but a few to see what blogging can make me.
- New theme – DivitoDesign will get a new face in the next upcoming weeks and it will go a bit more to the magazine style blog.
- Release WordPress themes – I have released two WordPress themes for free and I think it’s time for more. Before the end of 2008 I want to release two more free WordPress themes.
- Interviews – I would like to give one interview each month with bloggers from around the blogosphere. I always enjoy reading and give interviews.
Do you think these goals are realistic for this blog? Please give me some of your interesting thoughts!
Congrats on your 100th post. Don’t set your mind too much on achieving the above mentioned goals. Just let your creativity flow and post the articles you want to post at your blog, your goals will be at your hand. Looking forward to your new design. Good luck!
Sander, you are right, but I think the goals I’ve mentioned are realistic and I am able to achieve them.
With a bit of ‘guidelines’ it’s easier.

The theme looks slick, I really liked the mini sections on homepage with latest interview and WP theme. Though you could do with a logo
PS: The span you use for underline is styled like links, and I tried clicking them once or twice before realizing they may not be links. You might want to change it to a different color.
