I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses. But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using WordPress on a number of websites for about a year and am worried about switching to another platform. I have heard great things about blogengine.net. In Windows, you can "attach a network drive" using an FTP site and browse the files just as if it was another folder on your computer. Of course, you have to have an FTP server to begin with...
