18 Creative Examples of Typography & Paragraphs

The paragraph is a subject many webdesigners doesn’t even look at when they design a website and therefore they keep their paragraphs simple. But with some more attention to this part of typography we could improve the look of our whole site.

In an article I have written some time back I have shown you how you can use CSS to improve your paragraph’s typography without much hassle.

Today I will give you some creative (as far as creationism goes with paragraphs) and good looking examples of sites that did work on their paragraphs. These examples with different colors, backgrounds, sizes and typefaces should give you some inspiration for your own site!

Great list! Thanks for sharing. Some of them I’ve never seen before, nice inspiration. Are you working with windowsXP? Maby you should take a look at cleartype, this enhances the typography to a more smootly looking type.

  6. Hey thanks! ClearType is working fine and it looks good.

  20. Marc Graves says:

The sky’s the limit it seeems when trying to design a attractive site. There are almost too many choices….makes it tougher! I just tend to use the two or three most common fonts not knowing what browser a reader may be using.

  21. Nice post, I haven’t really thought about styling paragraphs that much apart from an increased line-height and maybe a decreased letter-spacing. I like the examples with the lined paper background image, it wouldn’t work on all sites though.

  22. Really an interesting and informative Post,it is a type of post which I was searching since long. thanks for a good article.

  23. scott says:

Hmmm…Yes I could see this working. I have to implement this strategy into my my BLOG to let me know your thoughts on how I could help let me know. thanks

  24. I agree that not enough attention is paid to the layout out text throughout the majority of standard websites. This has been an issue for a long time, the main reason is that regulary viewed websites are business websites, and as such businesses feel they must portray a professional image. It is considered that professional is simple, standard and common, the result of which is an overwhelming number of websites following the same suit.

There is, however, light over the hill. Large organisations are starting to recognise the benefits of visually appealing websites and are not exercising new possibilities, allowing for better presented and more colourful websites.

We are far from what is possible on the Internet, but those who stand out now will reap the benefits of the future of the Internet.
